A table somewhere good, a drink before and probably one after. The version of this I like best is the one where we lose track of the time.

Dinner without the watching of clocks. Enough room for a second venue, a walk, or simply staying exactly where we are.

03 · Plus one

Openings, weddings, industry dinners. I am comfortable in a room of strangers and good at remembering names, which helps.

04 · 12 hours

Dinner into breakfast. Slower, quieter, and my favourite way to spend time with someone I have met before.

05 · 2 days +

A city, a coastline, a conference you would rather not attend alone. I travel light, wake early, and hold my own at dinner.

None of this is meant to sound stern. It is simply what makes an evening easy for both of us.

Your name never leaves my phone. I ask for the same care with mine — no screenshots, no forwarding, no mentioning me by name in group chats.

Two recent references, or work verification. It takes ten minutes and it is the reason I can be relaxed when we meet.

Freshly showered, sober enough to enjoy the evening, and on time. I hold myself to exactly the same standard.

An envelope at the start of the evening, and then neither of us thinks about it again. Please don't raise it at the table.

Negotiation, haggling or asking for a trial hour will end the conversation politely and permanently.
